Somebody is a lot richer Wednesday morning.
According to the lottery, someone matched all six numbers to claim the Mega Millions jackpot of $800 million in Tuesday night’s drawing.
The winning ticket was sold in Texas, although the exact location was not announced.
The winning numbers drawn on Tuesday night were 1, 2, 16, 24, 66 and the Mega Ball was 6. It was a 4x Megaplier.
In addition to the jackpot, 4 tickets matched all five white balls that won $1 million each.
There were also 37 tickets that won $10,000 prizes, and 10 tickets that won $40,000 prizes.
Nationwide, the U.S. – Mega Millions drawing produced more than 2,109,700 winning tickets, with players winning lower-tier cash prizes worth a combined $17.56 million.

The winner can choose either the total jackpot paid out in yearly increments or a $10.1 million, one-time lump sum before taxes.
Before Tuesday’s win, there had been 30 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner since Mega Millions’s Jun. 4, 2024 drawing, when least one lucky ticket matched all six numbers to win a grand prize worth $560 million.
Mega Millions is offered in 43 US States, in the District of Colombia and in the U.S Virgin Islands. Tickets to Mega Millions cost $2 per play. There are nine total ways to win a prize.
To play, pick five numbers from 1 to 70 and one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. You can choose Easy Pick or Quick Pick to have the terminal randomly pick numbers for you. You win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in the drawing.
